Fox Communications was proud to be managing the social media campaign for the first ever World Curry Festival which took place in Leeds this weekend.
The 3 day covered event was held in Leeds Millennium Square transforming the city centre into an exotic world of Bedouin themed marquees serving up culinary delights and demonstrations (including workshops by world famous chef Jean Christophe Novelli). The World Curry Festival also celebrated the 200th anniversary of the Curry arriving on British shores!
Fox Communications created a presence on Facebook and Twitter to create a buzz around this fantastic event, as well as engage the public, conduct research and act as an extra customer service channel. We also conducted an online PR campaign which resulted in some great links going to the main website and achieved lots of listings on event sites. We also encouraged a great number of bloggers to attend and write about the Festival.
We will follow up with another blog post with the results, along with the final figures of attendance to the Festival. Unfortunately the World Curry Festival was a victim of its own success as it ran out of curry at one point! In our wildest dreams we couldn’t have hoped for such a huge turnout. The crowds were phenomenal.
Maybe the marketing was too successful!
