Leeds City Council has appointed Fox Communications to produce a social media campaign for its Breeze initiative for Leeds children and young people.
The campaign involves Facebook and Twitter activity to keep under 19’s informed about cultural, sporting, educational, creative, fun and leisure activities taking place in and around Leeds. Larger events such as Party in the Park and general youth club activities and are also being promoted via the channels.
For the Facebook page Fox Communications created a bespoke ‘Where it’s @’ application that enables users to view events via a Calendar to ensure they’re always up-to-date. They can also check out and upload pics, watch Breeze videos, and enter a poll for a chance to win backstage tickets for big events such as Party in the Park.
The campaign is now live and will run until the end of the school summer holidays.
Rosie Wilks, Development and Communications Officer at Leeds City Council said,
“The Facebook page is one-stop destination where young people can gain all their ‘What’s On’ information in one place. It’s also a wonderful forum for young people to chat and feed back to us at Breeze about events and what they’d like to see more of”.
Ben Fox, Director at Fox Communications said,
“It’s been wonderful to work with Breeze Leeds as they realise exactly what their audience requires. Young people are spending a lot of time on social networks, often through smartphones, so it makes sense that Breeze connects with them in this way”.
There are currently around 60,000 Breeze card holders in and around Leeds.
