Thank you Callum,

You're right about beautiful frosty winter mornings (like this very morning), they are life affirming and no mistake. Can't argue with the log fires either. As for the lashings of tea, oh yes, a man after my own heart.

But tea's not just for January, it's for life.

See you around duide

Thanks Callum - some pearls of wisdom indeed here.

It seems we should have consulted you prior to writing this post, however had we done so we would have had to come up with a brand new idea for a blog post - this would have been difficult due to feelings of mass depression...with it being January and all...

Cheers dude - hope you're spiffing.

Great things about January:

* Cadbury's Creme Eggs are back in the shops
* Always seats free in the pubs as fitness fad people are out exercising
* Beautiful frosty winter mornings
* Log fires and lashings of tea
* No money to go out = lots of time to stay in and read the books you got for Christmas

Hi Tim - Thanks for your comments and great point indeed - a deadline/timeline and milestones is critical to the briefing process, annoyed with myself for missing this off the list but thanks mucho for pointing it out!

Have a great afternoon

I'd agree on the whole, but I would definitely add 'deadline' to the above list. Nothing sends a project into a panic when a client casually asks for the project to be completed for their exhibition on Friday!

You made me feel better that I still haven't got round to doing one at all! Got as far as buying the url and that's about it. Client work first priority.

Thanks for your in-depth reply to our post Joel. You've clearly done loads more research than I did!

If I had time - and wasn't up against deadlines for client work, I'd respond with a list agency sites that were rubbish, but were made by agencies that did great client work. I can already think of a few off the top off my head.

That said, I totally agree that agencies with really crap websites will not get too far in intial selection processes by those who are unaware of their reputation.

As regards un-ironed shirts. Yes, we interviewed a chap recently who had a fantastic reputation, first-class experience, ticked all our boxes - in short he was brilliant. However when he took his jacket off, it transpired that he'd only ironed the front of his shirt. We kicked him straight out. Bloody chancer.

Sheriously though, this was only a bit of generalising fun Joel. I also had the words 'in', 'cheek' and 'tongue' in mind' when writing it.

Have a good weekend dude - and thanks again for taking the time to reply.

Ho ho good one Mr Mills. I always thought Netstep did some fantastic websites for clients - but Netstep's own site - not so hot. And I remember you saying - on a regular basis - that you really needed to get it updated. You Sir, are the Mother Teresa of Leeds web design. :-)
